He was born in Portharcourt, the capital of Rivers State, Nigeria, but soon relocated to Kumasi, Ghana where he furthered his education and graduated as a Mechanical Engineer from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.
He is known to have put the tech part him to work at some point before music, where he co-founded a tech startup called ‘obiwezy'(an e-commerce store) and is still currently running one.
His plunge into Music can be traced all the way back to him being in the school choir while attending primary school in Lagos. Plus, listening to his dad’s records at breakfast time.
His style of Music is known as Banku, a fusion sound he describes as a mixture of “Ghanian bounces, Ghanian highlife, Nigerian chord progressions, and Nigerian patterns” which is the first of it’s kind.
The 26 year old star debúted in 2012 with his first single ‘Pipi dance’but actually gained grounds in the Nigerian Music Industry sometime in 2015/2016 when singles like Skin Tight, Ohima(ft DJ Spinall), Hollup, Sample you, Shitor, Fre me and Leg over topped the chats and has stolen the hearts of Nigerians ever since!
In 2016, Mr Eazi won the prestigious ‘Next Rated Act’ at the Headies, ‘Best New Artiste of the year’ at the Inaugural SoundCity MVP awards/Festival, and was also awarded the WAMVA ‘Special Recognition Award’ by the WatsUP TV. He’s got a girl friend we know little or absolutely nothing about, and it looks like they both want it to stay that way.
